Facebook Rolling Out Dating Feature

An American online social media, Facebook will come up with new strategic plans to ensure user engagement time on its app. The social media planning to launch a dating service to compete with other dating websites as well as apps such as OkCupid and Tinder. Apart from the dating feature, social media giant announced updates to its Messengers Service. At its F8 developer conference, Facebook addressed how it would deal with data privacy and fake news.

Dating feature is the One of the wildest announcement of Facebook which allows users to build dating profiles separate from their primary profiles. The feature allows and find people through the events and send their interest to people accordingly. Even if they can see the upcoming interest in their profile. Dating conversations will be text only to reduce creepiness. Most importantly, the service will be applicable to those users who have declared themselves as single. Facebook has not revealed when the service will be available.

Apart from dating feature, the social media giant highlights other updates from the F8 conference including clearing history, Messenger to have AR facility, WhatsApp gets small updates, Instagram stories get a face-lift and many more.

The company says clearing history will allow users to delete information that lets third-party apps and websites identify their accounts. The company said, “If you clear your history or use the new setting, we’ll remove identifying information so a history of the websites and apps you’ve used won’t be associated with your account.”

Moreover, the company announced the global launch of Oculus Go will be available on e-commerce platform Amazon, also company uses its Camera Effects Platform to AR into the Messenger service.
